Project Based Learning (PBL) is a student centered approach to learning that challenges students to think deeper and more critically on subject matter. It presents students with open-ended real world problems to explore and actively engage in making meaningful connections.
SVRCS has gone Google for Education. Each student has a Google Education Account that allows them to collaborate and actively explore subjects using technology. SVRCS makes this possible because we are a 1:1 school. This means that each student has their very own Chrome Book to utilize in their pursuit of knowledge. Google education allows teachers to share apps, projects, and documents in ways that are effective and engaging.
Coding
Computer science and coding is a major driving force in the U.S. economy, but currently most elementary and high schools fail to teach or count credits for computer science. At SVRCS we have implemented computer science and coding at the elementary and middle school grades. Middle School is required to take a Technology course in both 7th and 8th grade.
